Hurricane Beryl impacts felt in Texas

Impacts from Beryl are being felt along the Texas coast while the hottest temperatures of the year expand across the West. Meanwhile, the East U.S. stays in a warm, stormy pattern.

On this day, 1954, Nashville, Tennessee, experienced its 31st consecutive day with temperatures reaching 90 degrees or higher. This heatwave set a record for the city, highlighting the extreme summer conditions during that period.

The relentless heatwave across the West continues, with multiple record-breaking temperatures reported in several states over the weekend. As we head into mid-July, the heatwave will expand into the Central U.S., affecting the Plains and Midwest.

A low-pressure system will move north across the Upper Midwest, triggering showers and thunderstorms across the Mississippi Valley, Midwest, and Great Lakes region. Meanwhile, to the east, a combination of a stalled front and deep moisture from the Gulf will fuel storms from the Deep South through the Mid-Atlantic.
